Minister of Formation
David is the Minister of Formation at Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in San Diego, CA, as well as the co-creator of Faith To Go. He holds a Masters of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary and has lived in San Diego since June of 2016. He has been at the Cathedral since September of 2016 and began working on Faith To Go in spring of 2017. He has so much fun working with Maya and Jackie on all the various Faith To Go offerings, especially the podcast. David is married to The Rev. Mary Lynn Coulson, who he met in Seminary, and they have a son named George who was born on June 18, 2018 and is the subject of the world renowned podcast segment "Gerogepan Venn Diagram."
Maya serves as the Youth Minister at St. Paul's Cathedral in San Diego, CA. She contributes to the weekly Faith to Go podcast and blog.. She first began attending St. Paul's in 2014. and has worked there since the August of 2017.
She is a San Diego native and currently attends San Diego City College where she has been studying liberal arts and social sciences for the last two years. She plans on transferring to San Diego State University in the fall of 2020 and major in Religious Studies with a minor in English. She loves jeopardy and hopes to appear on the show herself one day. She loves public transit and is passionate about its health and sustainability. She enjoys reading and engaging with theology and scripture.
Diocesan Youth Missioner
Charlette Preslar is the youth missioner for the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. She is also the director of youth and family at Christ Episcopal Church in Coronado and the lay chaplain at Christ Church Day School. A lifelong inviter and includer, Charlette believes in connecting children, youth and families to both their faith and the Episcopal Church. We are better together! In addition to her passion for youth ministry, Charlette has a background in nutrition, a heart for service, and an appetite for all things outdoors.
