Activity Time: Cards for Senior Citizens
Supplies: paper, markers, stickers, glitter, etc.
Line the table with card making supplies: paper, markers, stickers, glitter, all of the fun things you can think of! Have a conversation about how not everyone gets to live close to their families. How do you think it would feel to be far from your family? Work together to craft cards with inspiring messages, “You are amazing!” “Some bunny thinks you are awesome!” “I hope this card makes you smile!” set a time limit and make as many cards as you can. Go together to the local senior center to drop them off.
Story Time: Eating Twinkies With God
Watch this video together and then use the discussion questions below to reflect as a family.

Dinner Time: Living With Compassion
Below is a prayer with which to start your meal and then discussion questions to explore this week’s topic with your family while you eat.
Prayer-
Lord, May we treat the world with compassion. Help us to view our friends, classmates and families as you see them. Guide us as we lift up those who are hurting. Teach us to reflect Your goodness and love to those who need it most. Help us to love each other, just as You love us.

Bedtime: Reflections for Children at the End of the Day
During your bedtime routine, invite your children into a time of reflection about their day, maybe by saying, "Did you know that God really wants to know what happened in your day today, and that God is always listening whenever you need to tell God something?" Then continue with these questions:
1) What are some things that happened today that you want to tell God about?
2) What is one happy thing that happened today? What is one sad thing that happened today?
3) Did you see God or feel God with you when those things were happening? Where did you see or feel God when those things happened today?
4) Read to your children this week’s scripture selection, then ask the questions that follows.
Luke 16:19-31 ( from God's Word, My Voice)
Jesus told a story about a rich man who loved to wear fancy purple clothes and eat lots of great food. Right outside his door was a poor man named Lazarus, who was covered with sores that never healed. The dogs would even come and lick his sores. Lazarus would have been happy to eat whatever fell off the rich man’s table. The poor man died and was carried by the angels and placed in the arms of Father Abraham. The rich man died and was buried. His soul went into torment, and he was really tormented when he looke up and saw Abraham holding Lazarus in his arms. He called out, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus with a drop of water on his finger to come and cool my tongue with it. I am in agony.” Abraham said, “You received good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus had nothing but misery when he was alive. How ironic that now he is in comfort and you are the one in agony. It’s too late.”
“Then, I beg you to send him to warn my brothers so they won’t end up here.” Abraham said, “They have warning enough. The should listen to Moses and the prophets.” “I know they won’t listen,” said the rich man. “But if someone from the dead comes, I bet they’ll listen and change their ways.”
Abraham said, “If they ignore Moses and the prophets, no one from the dead will convince them either.”
