Reflect and Act:
In the gospel this week we hear Jesus tell his disciples that there is more truth for them to know, but that they cannot yet bear it all. Jesus promises that the Spirit of Truth will come to reveal "all the truth" to them throughout their lives as they become able to carry it. This is true for us as well, and this Spirit of Truth continues to hand over this truth to us as we are able to carry it, and reveals it to us as we grow in our capacity to hear it.
This week's article is about the truth of racial and cultural dynamics that continue to be revealed in Uvalde in the days and weeks after the shooting at Robb Elementary school. There are truths about the community, its language, its history, and its culture, that are revealed to us in the unfolding of time and as we are able to hear them and carry them. What truths are being revealed in your community? Who is being tasked with carrying them? What truths are you being called to carry today?
