This week we hear the story of Jesus spending 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness immediately following his baptism. While he is in the desert the devil, or Satan ("the accuser" in Hebrew), comes to him and three times tries to get him to prove that he is the Son of God. Each time Jesus rebukes this challenge, and after the third time the devil leaves him and he is attended by angels. Who are the voices in your life, either externally or internally, that make you question your identity as a beloved child of God? What relationships or situations make you question this identity? How can you live most fully into your belovedness today?
