Each week we'll highlight a current event or ongoing story from the world and reflect on it through the lens of the gospel. First check out the article linked below.

Reflect and Act:
In the gospel this week Jesus teaches the disciples that they should sell what they have and share what they have because wherever they put their resources their heart will be. This comes at the end of a much longer section of teaching where Jesus has been emphasizing the importance of trusting in God to provide, supporting one another, and being prepared for God to show up in unexpected ways and places.
This week's article is about policing in America, and the debate about how best to bring about change in policing practices. While some believe including more gender diversity and recruiting more women into policing will lead to changes in how policing is done, others believe that the solution is about changing where resources are being directed. Do people transform cultures, or does structural change transform cultures? Or, in the words of the gospel, what affects the heart of an organization the most, and where should resources and energy be put to make vital and lasting change? What are the systems and cultures that need to be transformed in your community? How can a redirecting of resources help change the heart of those organizations?
