DINNER: What does 'Son of Man' mean?

Take some time at dinner one night this week to read this fun fact and then discuss some of the questions.

Did you know...

…that the phrase "Son of Man" that Jesus uses in this week's story is actually from another book of the bible? It first appears in the book of Daniel, when the prophet Daniel is sharing a vision of a being that looks like a person coming down in the clouds to lead a kingdom on earth. The phrase could be more accurately translated "one like a human."

Here, Jesus is telling the disciples to be prepared for the coming of the "Son of Man" at an unexpected time. Jesus might be saying that God will show up in "a human one" unexpectedly, and we need to be ready for it. How amazing!

Questions for Discussion:

1) Who are the people that help you feel God in your life?

2) How do you think God shows up in the people around us?

3) When was a time someone helped you in a way you were not expecting?
