DINNER: Who gets left out?

Take some time at dinner one night this week to read this fun fact and then discuss some of the questions.

Did you know...

…that Jesus talks about two different stories from the bible in this week's gospel. One is the story of a widow in a place called Zeraphath and the other is a story of a person from the country of Aram named Namaan who was sick with a skin disease. Both of these stories are about people who were outside of Jesus' community, and who the people inside his community didn't really like very much. But Jesus tells them that God loves those people just as much as God loves them, and that makes them feel angry. They are so mad at Jesus for saying that, in fact, that they push him out of their gathering, and .chase him out of town

Questions

1) Who are some people that you see getting left out or pushed out of their communities, their families, or their group of friends?

2) What do you think Jesus would say about those people?

3) Do you ever feel left out or pushed out of a group of people you would like to be with? What does it feel like to be left out?

4) What are some ways we can help people not feel left out?
